VIRTUAL CAP NIGHT - HELP RAISE FUNDS FOR LA MESA NATIONAL

Every year, our players come together for the first official event of the season.  That is Cap Night.  The players raise money from their families to ‘win’ or ‘purchase’ the preferred uniform from options presented during the evening.  Unfortunately, we cannot get together this year to conduct this very important night for the league.  So, we have determined that we will hold our Cap Night virtually.

Starting now, individual team Managers will be in contact with their players in order to verify the team’s preference for uniforms.  Players and their families are encouraged to ask for donations to La Mesa National Little League.  The teams that raise the most funds at each division will have priority over the other teams for their first choice of uniform.  The League has set the reserve amount for each division’s uniforms as follows:

T-Ball - $300
Rookies - $375
CAPS - $550
Minors - $750
Majors - $900 ($1,200 for alternate uniform)

Teams are encouraged to raise as much money as possible.  The higher the amount over the reserve, the more likely a team will get their first choice in uniform style. In addition, the team with the most funds collected at each division will get a recording of their player’s names as read by Alex Miniak, the voice of the San Diego Padres.  Please watch the video that Alex prepared for our players below.

Managers and other volunteers from the team will help to collect cash donations.  The deadline for all donations is Monday, April 5 at 6:00pm.  This page will be removed at that time in order for the team tabulation to occur and results to be announced.

Our league has registered with Givebutter in order to accept Credit Card, Paypal and Venmo Payments online so that anyone that wants to help, may do so.  This allows players to raise funds with social distancing in mind.  After you select your donation amount, you will be asked for your player's name and division for which you are donating so that we may give the proper team credit for the funds collected.

Please note that Givebutter does not charge our league any fees for their service.   Givebutter does charge a convenience fee for some payment options, which are meant to offset the processing costs of the payment method.  When you complete your donation, you will be asked to give a 'tip' to Givebutter.  This is so that their service may stay free for organizations such as La Mesa National.  This is entirely optional.  If you do not wish to leave a tip, please choose other and then type a zero (0) in the amount box.
