Spring Events

Spring season has several events over a 6 month period.  Below are the main events that the league operates every season.  Additional events such as Padre Night or Aztec Baseball Night are added throughout the season as the opportunities present themselves.

Document Day - Mid January

Document day is when we will be verifying your proof of residency documentation.  It is the final part requirement of the registration process.

We also have a "Gear Swap" at this event.  Baseball gear can get expensive, especially when you're buying a new glove every 2 years.  We encourage parents with kids moving into higher divisions to donate their old gear to the League.  In turn, we offer this donated equipment to new and younger players that are playing in our lower divisions.

Assessments - Mid January

Assessments are only held for our Upper Divisions, which is CAPS, Minors & Majors.

Players come to Little League with varying skill levels.  In an effort to ensure our teams are fair and balanced, we hold player assessments.  The League has many players to evaluate each season, so the assessments are designed to be quick and efficient.   The tryouts are scheduled into timeslots and you are given an opportunity to signup for a time slot that is most convenient for you.

Players will be assessed via drills that include batting, catching, throwing & running.

Documentation Day & Assessments are often combined into one event

Caps Night Fundraiser - Beginning of February

The League fees only cover a portion of our operating costs.  We supplement our league fees with a fundraisers every season.

The Caps Night event is designed to encourage fundraising while giving the players a chance at winning their choice of jersey.    We encourage folks to come out to the event even if they are unable to donate funds.  This is a great opportunity to get to meet with other league parents & make new friends.  The event is designed for family fun and community.

Opening Day Ceremony - Beginning of March

Opening Day for Little League baseball is an exciting time, and one that deserves some pomp and circumstance.  In order to really get the kids excited about the imminent baseball season ahead, we kick off the season with an Opening Day Ceremony and Festival.  Each player will suit up into their uniform for the first time and get introduced onto the field with their team.

After the ceremony, stick around for and exciting festival that is fun for both kids and parents!

Closing Day Ceremony - Beginning of June

Unfortunately, all good things come to an end, including Little League baseball seasons.  Closing Day gives us a chance to reflect and recognize our community and kids that make our league so great.  We also take the opportunity to honor and recognize several standout players, coaches & volunteers throughout the season.

Don't fret about the season ending though, as our Fall Season starts up just around the corner in a few months!

Fall Events
