Little League Divisions

 LMNLL Baseball Divisions

📢 **Important Note:** Division placement is ultimately determined by a **skills assessment**, not solely by age, to ensure a safe and challenging experience for all players.
Tee Ball
Ages: 4 - 5 Year Olds

Focus: Introduction to the fundamentals of hitting, fielding, and sportsmanship.

Play: Players hit off a batting tee. The emphasis is on fun, simple rules, and practice.

Rookies
Age: 6 Year Olds

Focus: Transitional stage from the tee. Learning defensive positions and basic game structure.

Play: Coach-pitch to start the season and then transition to the use of blue flame pitching machine. 

Caps
Ages: 7 - 8 Year Olds

Focus: Developing live-pitch hitting mechanics using pitching machines, Player pitching is introduced. Increasing defensive awareness.

Play: Typically machine-pitch or coach-pitch throughout the season. Scores may be kept, but focus is still instructional.

Minors
Ages: 9 - 10 Year Olds

Focus: Full game player pitching is introduced. Developing competitive strategies and advanced baseball skills.

Play: Kids pitch. Stealing bases introduced. This is the first level of "real" competitive baseball. This level offers the chance to qualify for All-Star tournament play.

Majors
Ages: 11 - 12 Year Olds

Focus: Advanced strategy, pitching control, and full rules of Little League Baseball.

Play: Full player pitching and competitive play. This level offers the chance to qualify for All-Star tournament play.
